Associate Attorney, Miles Mason Family Law Group, PLC

As both a single mother, with two young children, Cora and William, and a child of divorced parents herself, Brooks Irvine understands the challenges and pitfalls of divorce and co-parenting from both sides of the equation.  Her goal is to help clients navigate the legal issues involved in their cases and, ultimately, achieve results that allow them and their children to flourish.

Born and raised in Memphis, Brooks attended the Hutchison school, where she participated in numerous sports, theater productions, and Cotton Carnival.  When Brooks is not busy working, she can be found spending time with her children and family.  Snow-skiing in Park City near her family’s vacation home, fundraising for Memphis area not-for-profits, playing golf, throwing pottery, tasting wine, supporting the local arts scene, and renovating homes are just a few of the activities she enjoys in her rare spare moments.

Brooks began her collegiate studies at The University of Texas, Austin, where she joined the Kappa Alpha Theta Women’s Fraternity.  As a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Brooks volunteered teaching literacy to children who spoke English as a second language.  After transferring to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Brooks obtained her Bachelors of Arts in English, with a focus on Rhetorical Argumentation and Persuasive Writing.  Go Vols!

Following the tradition of both her father and brother, Brooks obtained her JD, cum laude, from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law, in 2004.  She was on the University of Memphis Law School Law Review, a member of Phi Delta Phi, and received a CALI award in Cyberlaw.  During her time in Law School, Brooks also volunteered as a Mock Trial coach for the Hutchison School Mock Trial team.

Following Law School, Brooks worked as a Judicial Clerk for Judge Robert W. Wedemeyer on the Court of Criminal Appeals of Tennessee, before returning to Memphis in 2005, to become a prosecutor for the 30th Judicial District of Tennessee.  As an Assistant District Attorney for over a decade, Brooks learned the importance of effective trial advocacy and negotiation.  She honed these skills daily and attended a Trial Advocacy program at the prestigious National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
