Michael Kelley’s Great Jazz Lists
Michael Kelley is well-known in the Memphis jazz community. Aka “Jazznik,” Michael was a Music Major at Memphis State in the late 60’s and became very involved in the jazz community starting in the 70’s. Michael has promoted jazz since the 70’s and helped other jazz promoters in the area. He knows all of the jazz musicians in Memphis and many more in New Orleans, Kansas City, Nashville, Boston, and New York. In the late 80’s, Michael hosted a mainstream (hardcore) jazz radio show on WEVL. He also boasts he possesses an extensive jazz CD collection including almost of all the Memphis jazz musicians’ cd’s.
