ABA Family Law Section Publishes Mason’s Article “Grab the Documents”
The Summer 2012 issue of the ABA Family Law Section’s Family Advocate includes the article “Grab the Documents” by Memphis, Tennessee divorce lawyer Miles Mason, Sr. “Grab the Documents” provides detailed instructions to spouses about what documents to copy for divorce lawyers.
“I enjoyed writing this because the information is so fundamental to practicing family law.” Mason said. “I had most of the information assembled from what I already provide my clients. Making it better and ready for publication made it a challenge. Family lawyers around the country will use the article and checklist in their practices.”
This issue of Family Advocate, Prepare for Key Events in Your Case: A Client Manual helps clients learn about “key events” in a domestic relations case. The articles provide basic explanations of key events that will help maximize the effectiveness of the lawyer-client relationship. Other topics include financial disclosure, hearings on temporary orders, depositions, mediation, meeting with the custody advisor, and more. The Family Advocate is a quarterly magazine sent to the approximately 10,000 members of the Section of Family Law. According to the ABA, “[f]or more than 20 years, mental health professionals, judges, family lawyers, and their clients have turned to Family Advocate for practical information and advice on handling increasingly complex cases.”
